Majority of public support devolution of policing and justice - Woodward
Friday 22 February 2008
Secretary of State Shaun Woodward today released polling results on attitudes towards the devolution of policing and justice
Commenting on the findings from the Millward Brown Ulster survey he said;
"There are those who have been saying there is no support for the transfer of powers - I am not sure what they are basing that on"
"While an opinion poll is not a science, I think it does show that when the parties reach agreement as to when they want to devolve policing and justice they will be supported by an overwhelming majority of the public.
"It remains for the parties to make that decision and provide the leadership for that to happen."
