Hain pays tribute to the work of Mitchell Reiss

Secretary of State Peter Hain today paid tribute to US Special Envoy, Mitchell Reiss for his contribution to Northern Ireland over the past 3 years.
Following the announcement by the US Department of State Peter Hain said” Mitchell Reiss has been a strong advocate of the peace process, committed to doing all that he could to help take Northern Ireland forward. He was a valued colleague whom I thoroughly enjoyed working with and I am grateful for his personal contribution and tireless efforts.”
Peter Hain also welcomed the appointment of Paula Dobriansky who has been selected as President George Bush’s new special envoy to Northern Ireland.
He said “We value the continuing friendship and support of the American administration for the political process in Northern Ireland. I am delighted to welcome Paula as the new special envoy and I look forward to meeting her in due course and developing a close working relationship with her as I did with Mitchell.”
