New Ministerial portfolios announced
Monday 5 April 2004

As announced at that time, Ian Pearson MP will take over the security portfolio previously held by Ms Kennedy. New NIO Minister Barry Gardiner MP assumes responsibility for the Department of Education and the Department of Employment and Learning. He also takes responsibility for the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, which was previously held by Mr Pearson.
There are no changes to the Ministerial portfolios of the other NIO Ministers, John Spellar MP and Angela Smith MP
